Eternally Planted: My Heart Behind The Blog

Eternally Planted: My Heart Behind The Blog

I have had the desire to start a blog for many years now, but every idea that I had never seemed quite right. That is until now.

This past summer (2020), I came to the realization that I love giving advice and sharing Christan resources with my friends. So I thought, Why not turn that passion into a blog and share these things with other ladies my age to help and encourage them in their walk with Jesus?

And thus, Eternally Planted was born.

Eternally Planted was not the first name I came up with for this blog, but it was the one that felt the most right. The inspiration for it came from Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT) which says,

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”

This verse has become one of my absolute favorite Bible verses. And I believe that God intended for me to use it as the inspiration for this blog because this verse kept showing up to me ALL YEAR!

It first showed up when I read through the book of Ecclesiastes back in February; then I used it in a devotional I gave in a class for school last spring; it is the verse I have in my Instagram bio and on my laptop background; and then it showed up in a Bible study I attended this summer.

I see this verse in Ecclesiastes as an encouraging reminder to trust God in all things. We may not see the entirety of God’s plan (for both our lives and that of the world), but we can trust that He has a plan and that He will work it out in just the right way.

God designed us for a better life, as the verse says, “[God] has planted eternity in the human heart." He designed us to be with Him forever in heaven.

If you take a look at the next verse, Ecclesiastes 3:12 (ESV), you will read,

“I perceived that there is nothing better for them [humans] than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live.”

God calls us to serve Him, to carry out His good will, and to do so joyfully. It pleases God when you carry out His will for your life with joy in your heart.

My goal with this blog is to help you on that journey. I believe that part of God’s will for my own life is to empower, equip, and encourage you to discover your calling and then to stay planted in God’s Word as you carry out that call and seek eternity with Jesus Christ.
